I founded the original WellSpace (then called Hillcrest Wellness Center of San Diego) in the spring of 2012 out of the desire to create flexible and affordable communal space for like-minded wellness professionals. As a psychotherapist, life coach and massage therapist, I was frustrated by how hard it was to find a professional practice space that would fit the needs of my clients and myself. I knew many other practitioners who felt the same way. Out of this impulse I took a leap of faith and opened the Hillcrest Wellness Center of San Diego--a four-room, street-front space on Park Boulevard in the San Diego neighborhood of Hillcrest. The response from San Diego wellness providers and from the local wellness-seeking public was amazing! So many people expressed their interest in, and gratitude for, the new space. Our rooms quickly filled up with eager wellness providers and those who looked to them as aides to growth and healing. A waiting list soon developed and I realized that it was time to start looking for a bigger space. We expanded to our 5th Avenue location in Banker's Hills. Then to 4th Avenue! Then to Centre Street!
Our original home on Park Boulevard has given way to what is now comprised of five locations and sixty offices and treatment rooms! And we continue to grow!
Throughout the process of creating and growing WellSpace, we have worked hard with our member wellness providers to develop simple protocols for keeping things running smoothly so they can spend more time thinking about their clients and their growing practices and less time worrying about office management and bureaucracy.
With the growth of WellSpace my goal continues to be to broaden the availability of flexible and affordable space to San Diego wellness service providers, and wellness services to the San Diego community.
